Receive to Give
Designer: Michelle Pardue (’82)
Fabrication: Ironwood Studios
“Receive to Give” is the title given to this sculpture as a tribute to God, the Master Artist.
The artist interpretation is that the Triune God, as our Creator, bestows on each of us a unique gift to be used not only for worshipping Him but also shared with the world in which we find ourselves.
You should be able to see yourself in the reflecting ball with arms outstretched to both God and to the world. What gift have you received that you can give back to God through worship and give to the world through service and beauty? What talent are you keeping for yourself that needs to be shared? How does this sculpture speak to you, personally? What do you see?
